Outsource It
Outsource It

Ever catch yourself despising a certain part of your business or getting bored of doing the same thing over and over? This has happened to me more times than I’d like to admit, both in business and everyday life.

It’s why we hire lawn care services, pool cleaners, and editors. Sometimes we don’t have the time, but mostly we just don’t want to be doing these things.

And that’s okay. Outsourcing something that someone else is better equipped to take on because they’re faster and more efficient makes sense. What doesn’t make sense is how long we hold onto the idea that we need to do everything ourselves.

For a long time, I have loved the control of holding on to things that no longer brought me joy but moved the needle. I felt like I HAD to do them because there was no other option. I used common excuses when you’re in denial like, no one could do it the way I did it, I couldn’t afford it, there was no one locally, it takes too much time to train someone, etc.

It’s natural to move away from things that no longer bring us joy, but build resentment instead.

I love what I do, but there are parts of it that work better when delegated out. I would rather pass it off to someone who is better and faster so I can focus on scaling and doing the things I really enjoy and am better at.

It’s simple.

I can’t do everything myself. It’s physically impossible to run a household, build a business, manage a business, be every role in the business, show up for your family, be a good friend, enjoy all your hobbies, and still find time for yourself.

I recently outsourced a big part of my business because I just don’t have the time to do it all myself. It made me nervous, but it went perfectly fine. Delivered on time. Done correctly. Paid minimal money. Why wouldn’t I do it?

Outsource it; find what you’re good at and let others do what they’re good at too.
